How to turn on values in DataLab

I'm using datalab to configure and push a worksheet.  I've successfully set various attributes on the worksheet.display_items to control lane assignments, color, line thickness, etc.   Now, i'd like to set Values display flag as shown below.  I noticed that the worksheet.display_items did not have a "Values" column.  So, I added the column and set the "Count Signal" to True before pushing.  The push succeeded, but didn't produce the result I had intended.  The "Values" checkbox was still unchecked (unlike my screenshot).  

How can I flip this switch for a displayed signal in DataLab?
